Finally finished...

Yesterday saw a finish to one of the projects I've been working on - a charity quilt destined for Interact.  I made the quilt top during my last quilt retreat at the beach.  Remember the one where we got 15 inches of rain?  It's really good timing though, because as you're reading this, I'm off to another quilt retreat.  This one is in Williamsburg, Va.  Here's hoping it doesn't rain this time - and that I don't get lost again.

The pattern is Megabits by Swirly Girls.  The quilt is 60" x 70" which I think is a nice size for a child.  The pattern was incredibly quick to put together.  And I did an all over loop de loop design for the quilting using Superior Thread in a variegated purple color.  (I used to always match the bobbin thread to the backing but now I find I like when it stands out.)

Those feet sticking out belong to the wonderful Mr. Quilting Bug.  While I'm off quilting with friends, he's busy at home tiling the bathroom.  I do believe I have the better end of this deal.

I'm glad to have finished this quilt except for a quick wash and dry.  I'm also glad I can count it on my stash report this week.  Hopefully I'll get lots more done at the retreat as well as spending time with good friends.

Until later...

"The world and all that is in it belong to the Lord; the earth and all who live on it are his."
Psalm 24:1 (TEV)

  1. Have fun at your retreat! I am glad to hear I am not the only one who tends to socialize too much and not get things done! Its the only time I get to see some of my quilting friends! Aren't the people we meet at these retreats just wonderful?
