Bee Stuff...

After finishing the quilting of Here's My Heart, it was really nice to get back to some piecing.  I was behind on some sewing for my bee, so I got busy on that.  I made 2 more blocks for our Quilt in a Box project.

Dee's Block
I also made 2 more sets of HST's (half-square triangles) for our HST swap.  We're swapping these out for the next year or so in groups of 32 (because that's how many you can reasonably make this size out of 2 fat quarters.)

My 2 sets to swap
We met this week and swapped these latest sets out and I already cut mine down to their 3.5" unfinished size.  (We decided to let everyone cut their own down to be more accurate.)

I've added them to my basket.  It's growing slowly.  Right now I have 128 of them.  But before too long, I'll have enough to make a nice sized quilt.  I'll have to pull out my quilt books and start looking at patterns.  Any suggestions?

All of my HST's together
The other day David showed up missing a patch of hair on his face.  He's an indoor only cat and we can't figure out how it happened.  He's not injured, except for the missing fur.  I can only wonder what he got into?

The weather here has finally turned spring like and gorgeous.  I hope you're experiencing the same in your part of the world!  Have a lovely weekend!

Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.

  1. I really like the blocks you are making for quilt in a box. They are lovely. You can so so much with the half square triangles.

That is a funny place to loose fur. I cannot imagine what happened.

  2. I love hst's too, and am currently in the process of making a quilt that appeared in McCalls Quilting Sept/Oct 2011 called Scrap Sensation. It is a variation of a mosaic block set in a diamond pattern with sashing and corner stones. I saw the quilt in person at Homestead Hearth in Mexico, MO and it is STUNNING!
