#8...

I've finally finished the 8th block for the Winter Wonderland quilt.  This block is by far the largest and correspondingly took the longest to stitch.  Of course, I haven't been spending that much time stitching at night lately either.

Winter Wonderland Block #8
Sorry for such a small picture.  Perhaps if you click on it, you can see it better.

I've already started on the 9th block and after just a couple of nights, it's more than half finished.  It feels like I'm speeding through it after all the complexity of the last one...

It's all the snowflakes and little circles that seem to take the most time.  And while block 9 has tons of little circles, there are no snowflakes.  I figure another couple of nights and I'll be done with it and can move on to the last block - which is also a small one.

If I don't finish these by early next week though, I'll have to put them aside until next month.  I'm teaching a couple of classes at the end of the month and I need to get busy hand appliqueing the class sample for one of them.  But I'm so close to finishing these blocks that I'm really going to try to get them done.  And when they are, I have a legitimate reason to go shopping for the rest of the fabrics for this quilt.  Yeah!

Until later...
