More De-stashing (Dots and Swirls)... (Winner Announced)

Note: Deborah was the winner of the Nancy Halvorsen book and fabric.

OK, more clearing out going on over here.  It's like a trip down memory lane!  Some of the fabric I can clearly recall why I purchased it, but others remain a bit of a mystery.  Like this bundle here...

It's not that I don't like the fabric.  It's pretty.  However, it's really not me.  I'm not a pink girl and I'm really not much into dots or swirls.  There's also this Fancy Cats pre-cut panel by Loralie Designs that could be used with this fabric bundle to make a quilt.

All together, there's a yard each of the 5 bottom fabrics and 2 FQ's of the light pink scroll.  Then of course, there's the panel fabric.  That's a total of more than 6 yards of fabric.  (This is all quilt shop quality fabric.)

If you're interested in this fabric, leave me a comment letting me know what you'd make with it.  And please know, I'm totally OK if you choose not to use the cat panel in your project!  Although I love the creatures, I know they're not everyone's favorite animals.

Sorry, but since shipping could get expensive on this one, I'm going to leave this open to those with US addresses only.

5/12 - Congratulations Sandie!  You're the winner of the fabric.  I've sent you an email for your information.

  1. These are so pretty! I especially like the fabric with the different colored polka dots and the darker pink scrolls. What would I do with them? I've been collecting black and white prints to make a black and white quilt, so some would make its way there...although with a yard of each there would be plenty left over. I'd probably turn most of it into hospital quilts. I've been making a lot of quilts for Katie's Comforters at Seattle Children's Hospital. Sounds like there would be enough for several quilts and the cats would be perfect for hospital quilts too. :)

  2. Congratulations to lucky Deborah! I love dots, and pink, black and white are awesome! I would use the panel and make a fun snuggle quilt for my DD. She is a girly girl and loves pink too. Thanks for the chance!

  3. I love Loralie's designs. I have a 14 year old granddaughter who loves pink and has two cats. A quilt from these fabrics would be right up her alley! (Thanks for the opportunity to enter the contest.)

  4. The panel is adorable. I'd definitely use at least most of them! I'd make a quilt top and frame in all the panels in various widths to get the row heights to work out nicely. Then, I'd probably give it away to one of my cat loving friends or possibly Project Linus. (I rarely keep my quilts) I like black/white/pink together.
I should consider a give away on my blog too. I know it requires time and effort to sort through your things and to decide what you could bless someone else with.
Thanks for your amazing generosity with your giveaways. Someone will appreciate receiving this collection.

  5. I love cat fabric! Even though I have only one granddaughter and she is not into pink, I can hope for one of those grand sons to marry sweet girl that will like pink!

  7. I would make a quilt for our church quilt ministry. We send quilts to foreign orphanages and also donate to the local pregnancy help center.

  8. That would make a fun quilt/throw for my niece who loves cat! Her birthday is in December and I could probably have it done by then. :-)

  9. The minute I saw these fabrics I thought of my grand daughter. I bought a skirt pattern a while back and these Colors and patterns would look adorable. Its a swirly type skirt, just the kind that my darling girl likes to pretend she is a dancing fairy princess. And the Kitty panel could easily be made into a wall hanging for her bedroom. And well its not like grandma doesn't have other softie patterns stocked up to make adorable things for her only grand baby :)

  11. I asked my granddaughter Livia what kind of quilt she would like for me to make for her. Her answer was "pink". I would like to make this quilt for her 16th birthday which is in November. I would incorporate the black, white and pink dotted and swirly fabrics into this quilt.
