I'm finally done...

stitching all of the Winter Wonderland blocks!  I just put the final stitch in block #10 earlier tonight.

Last of the Winter Wonderland Blocks
This was one of the simplest blocks to stitch so I'm glad I saved it for last.  I'm like that.  I usually prefer to do the hard or time consuming task first and then reward myself with something fun or easy later.

The next step on this project is to cut all of the blocks down to size, sew them together, add a simple border and then stitch a fly stitch around each block using the same block perle cotton thread.  After that, I can actually start making the pieced stars that make up the outer border.

Here's a collage of all the blocks together...

In other news, Gabriel is still wearing her cone.  She's managed to knock it open a couple of times and start licking her injured toe.  Mr. Quilting Bug had to resort to duck taping it closed tonight.  She's getting around pretty well with it and has even figured out a way to chew on her deer antler while wearing it.  She looked so cute trying to carry it around that I tried hard to get a good picture, but she kept dropping it every 5 seconds.  This was the best I could do...

She loves chewing on these things and best of all, no animals were harmed for her to enjoy them.  You might have to go to a pet specialty store to find them, but I highly recommend the deer antlers as something for your dog to chew on.  They last an incredibly long time and they won't splinter like other bones.  They're also a renewable resource.

Until later...

How kind the LORD is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours!
