Side Project...

While I've been waiting for the arrival of some basting spray to start quilting this, I've been working on a few small side projects.  One of them is to make a bunch of HST's for the future monthly swaps in my quilt bee.  I swap 2 groups of 32 each month and after digging through my stash I pulled out enough for the next 4 months.

I marked all of them with the black Pilot Frixion pen whose marks disappear when ironed.  (I use these pens so often, I should buy stock in their company.  Disclaimer - Always test on your fabric first!)

This is pretty simple sewing, but I'll admit it still took me a couple of days to finish (or almost a full season of The Amazing Race on Hulu Plus.)  I received a Roku player for my sewing room last Christmas and I love it, but I do believe it's made me a slower quilter (split attention and all that.)  In any case, I now have 256 HST's ready to swap...

And my basting spray has also finally arrived so I can get started on my quilting.  (I also have another season of the Amazing Race ready and waiting.)  And I've almost finished my Christmas shopping (yeah!).  The wrapping is a whole another issue though.

  1. I love frixion pens, too. I stocked up at the Office store at the "back to school" sales.

  2. I have been reading about the Frixion pens. When they leave a white mark on dark fabric, a burst of stem is suppose to remove it!

  3. Wow! Way to get ahead! I'm almost done shopping, and yes, wrapping is a whole 'nother thing! :-) Have fun quilting!

  4. Love your color combos as always Dee. I will look into those pens since I have only ever used a reg lead pencil.

When I see you again we will have to chat about Hulu and Roku….. Am interested in learning more form someone else.
Have a merry and blessed Christmas holiday with your family.
